While perusing Digg, I saw a comment on a post I recently published on Apple: Steve Jobs co-founder and chief executive officer of Apple Inc, died 35 mins ago. I feverishly started to scan all my networks for information to validate the comment. Sadly, it was true. Then I found myself, listening to all news bulletins for the rest of the evening.
Why? I had never met him? He was essentially a distant figurehead far beyond my reach. And there, you have it. Reach.
With his ingenuity, leadership and passion, he had reached so many on so many levels. I, like so many, was touched and moved by the news. Without a doubt – a sense of loss.
Steve Jobs was an inspirational leader- another who had dropped out of school and started a career in a garage. Something to be said about following your dreams and living off your passion.
His life’s journey is inspirational and his accomplishments leave many in awe. We could only hope to achieve in 80-100 years what he did in 56. I was going to write a few bullets on his milestones- instead, I will share a blogpost I found on 100 things you didn’t know about Apple and Steve Jobs.
I salute this inspirational leader and end this post with one of his quotes:
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” Steve Jobs 1955-2011
