What’s in a name?
William comes from the Germanic name “Wilhelm” the Germanic elements ‘wil’ (will, desire). ‘Helm’ (helmet, protection). William is the name of many rulers and kings; a royal name in the UK for more than a thousand years. Williams is also my surname. So my value interpretation of this part of the name is a “will” or drive to succeed and the compassion to win with our stakeholders.
Pearl, a highly valued gemstone. A metaphor for something very rare, very fine, harmonious and very valuable. It has also been a symbol for wisdom. When I was at university, my nickname was “Shirl the Pearl”. My value interpretation of this part of the name is: a harmonious partner delivering value to our stakeholders
